Rainbow Bridge

High on whispered wings I fly, a radiant star, I light the sky.
Toward the sun I soar so free a brilliant rainbow follows me.
I pulsate through your very soul, and in my paws your heart I hold.
The day will come when you'll fly too, and I'll be there then to welcome you.
Until the time we meet again, I won't journey far, my friend.
For in your love I live so free, a brilliant rainbow guiding me.

Amy

We lost another good girl today to the rainbow bridge. Amy, our permanent Haven to Home foster, left us to be pain free and be able to chase the kitties once again. Thank you Haven to Home for letting us have her until the end because she was ours thru n thru, she was so sweet and loving... run free baby. We love you.

Katie Alyssa
Katie Alyssa was put to sleep on Friday, December 4, 2015. We had her almost a year, and gave her all the love and care that we could give. At some point in her life, she must have known a loving home because she knew basic commands, was very well behaved and was housebroken. But then something bad had to have happened...She was found as a geriatric stray and had significant trust issues with humans. It took over 6 months for her to stop flinching every time we reached to pet her, and even the night before she passed, she flinched when I reached for her. She would look at us with "what are you going to do to me" eyes and that was painful for us to see. Through this past year, she seemed happy. She loved playing with her toys and all the other little dogs that we own and fostered. Sometimes she would throw a ball for herself and run to get it. She was a terrific guard dog who had an awesome deep bark to alert us to visitors. We will miss her but are comforted to know that her last year was enjoyable for her.

Coolie
From Steve, a loyal H2H kennel volunteer:
We lost our beloved Coolie Bear this afternoon. He was diagnosed with a neurological condition, that is what was the cause of him slipping, falling & losing control of the backend.  Take comfort that he was loved by all at the kennel, got days trips, was bathed, combed, rubbed & given more attention in his short stay with us than probably his all of his previous years combined. My thanks to Marcy & Linda H for going back over to be with him at the end.

Blondie
In Memory of Blondie Blondie was rescued in 2012 at the age of 8 by Haven to Home after spending her life in a puppy mill. She came covered in fleas, weak and not able to sit up for very long, having spent her whole life caring for expensive puppies. Volunteer Linda Gemberling and her husband, Gerald, took her home to foster and quickly "failed" at fostering and adopted her. Blondie enjoyed almost 3 years of pampered retirement in their loving home and occasionally "worked" events as an ambassador for Haven to Home.

Ryker (fka Obie)

Hello Haven to Home,

You guys were so amazing at helping me reach out to Ryker's siblings, the "O puppies," in which his one sister's parents have checked in on his well being multiple times since. It truly has been a blessing to have been a part of such an amazing rescue family.

I am writing you tonight with a very heavy heart to inform you that Ryker passed away around 5pm and lost his battle with that nasty liver disease. My heart is very broken and my home now very quiet. I appreciate everything you and his foster parents provided him for his first 12 weeks of life and I hope I lived up to his expectations from there on.

When the time is right and I have fully grieved his passing, I hope to find another amazing puppy to rescue and fill my home with joy again.

He will never be replaced or forgotten and tonight many of his human friends and family are grieving heavily.

Thank you again for being such amazing rescuers.

Kelsey
