Scarlet

Scarlet with her new family!

Sebastian C

Sebastian’s owners had some tough times in their lives and he found himself in need of a new home. This handsome 5 year old had never been to the vet and lived in a small apartment. When the call came in to H2H for help, our rescue/rehab coordinator knew of just the perfect home for home. One of our long-time, dedicated volunteers had just lost their old yellow lab mix. Sebastian went to live with Cindy and Hal in their large home. His former owner was very sad to give him up, but Sebastian is now Hal’s Velcro dog and gets along great with the cats. He settled in to their home very quickly and enjoys trips to the creek to swim and play. Here is an update from Cindy to his former owner: We absolutely love him and he is everything you said he would be………………….THE PERFECT DOG. He really likes to stick close to Hal , in the garden, his workshop or beside him as he reads or watches TV. He especially likes the cats and they’re always close by to try and get his wagging tail since he’s such a happy dog. Hal takes him for a walk in the park almost every day and he really loves to get in the creek and as Hal says” he runs like the wind.” He usually sleeps under our bed as you said he likes to do and no problems with any messes in the house. He spends some time outside lying on the back porch or patio when it isn’t too hot. We never have to worry about him wandering away even when we are outside of our fenced yard. All our neighbors and friends that visit or get to meet him can’t believe how quickly he has settled in and became a part of our family. What a good boy he is and he has a forever home here with us. I got him a tag with his and our name on, address and number just to be safe but as I said he doesn’t have the desire to stray away.

Sadie Jo
Sadie Jo

We adopted Sadie Jo on November 13. She is a much loved member of our family now. She loves her walks, and sleeping on the couch. We take her to a field to run as well as at both her grandparents houses. We put a long lead rope on her as she runs and plays. She was visited by Mark Cusick. He helped us work with her . She is doing well with her training. Her Christmas went better than her thanksgiving.
With tips from Mark Christmas Eve and day went well. She had a lot of new people to meet spent time at grandma's. All of our 7 nieces and nephews enjoyed her. She did manage to steal a piece of lemon sponge cake off the bar. She did it very neatly though. Her teenage sisters at home like to dress her up, and play in the snow with her. They take lots of pictures of her. We are still working with her on outside behavior with her. Her walks are better, thanks to Mark. She does ok when running free in an open area. She responds pretty well to her come command. Her worst behavior is when on the tie out leash for a few min. To use the bathroom. She barks nonstop and seems to act like she will tear into anybody whilel on her tie out leash. I almost think that at some point she was tied out and tormented. We continue to work with her and love her. Her favorites are snuggling with her family, chewing her rawhide, getting wound up playing. Looking forward to the new year with her. The latshas.

Sandy Joe

This is Sammy (formerly Sandy) and he was one of the Berwick Dogs. He was adopted by Gail and her family. They also have a Westie puppy mill rescue. Sammy is doing well, he has made Frisky the Westie get more exercise, and keeps them on their toes with his great ability to counter surf.
