Melo is a Shepherd/Hound Mix(dna of one of his siblings included in photos). He will be 2 in January. Unfortunately, Melo was attacked by another dog so he is a little nervous around dogs that are too vocal or too rough. He is lacking in doggy play etiquette so I think he may have played too hard with the wrong dog. He could do well with a dog that is very patient and non-intrusive. He is doing good with dogs in his foster home, although he is leashed. He doesn’t growl he just freezes if they get too active around him. He is kept protected since the other dogs really want to play with him and he’s just not ready yet. Melo went to an event over the weekend and we realized he loves kids. He lights up when he sees them! He was a bit shy with adults at first but once he realized everyone was there to pet him, he was thrilled! Melo crates nicely and is housetrained. He will mark occasionally if you’re not paying attention but that ahould go away once he is neutered. Some fun Melo Facts: -human food is very exciting and can easily be snatched from a human hand -cats run when you chase them, they are fun -counters are fun, you never know what could be up there -when you have a leash on, you are supposed to really pull and see how far you can get before being stopped by a human -humans like it when you sit and put your paw up -big fluffy beds are the best If you are interested Melo. Go to our website and fill out an application. He is being neutered December 8th and then will be ready for adoption.. Currently, he weights about 43lbs but he should be about 50- we are working on that!
