Dougall is a young neutered pure Scottish Terrier. He is approximately 1 1/2 years old. Dougal loves the company of other dogs, but humans are not high on his list of favorites. He has NEVER been aggressive or vicious in any way but is distrustful and fearful of humans. Applicants for Dougall need to understand that Dougall is not your typical independent Scottie. He is a damaged little soul; extremely fearful and shy. He will retreat from human interaction or if cornered simply shut down. Dougall requires an adopter who will commit for a lifetime with the understanding that he may never be completely normal. His progress will be measured in "baby steps". Dougal requires a secure fenced in yard as he would be a flight risk. His foster, who is a certified trainer, is trying many different techniques with him--and he is showing some progress. He will accept attention--but not seek it. He shows curiousity and is beginning to stay in closer proximity to his humans - but he does so very tentatively. Dougal needs a home with a patient human and a friendly canine companion. Will you give Dougal the forever home he desperately needs?
