April is a great bed buddy!  NEEDS a HOME SOON!

April is a sweet 3 year old mixed breed who weighs around 32 pounds.   She has a short chocolate colored coat, with some white and tan markings, a long elegant nose and soft droopy ears.  She came to Central Pennsylvania, along with her three puppies, from a high-kill shelter in Kentucky.   Everyone who has met April says how wonderful and sweet she is.  Her foster mom calls her a wonderful and special dog, not too small, not too large, not too energetic, JUST RIGHT.   She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home and loves when the grandchildren visit. She is housetrained and loves to cuddle.  When she first came to us she was a resource guarder, but as she realizes that she will eat again and have more treats, that behavior has diminished.  See the photo of her having a treat in close proximity to other dogs (under close supervision).   

 

All Haven to Home dogs are tested for parasites, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and veterinarian checked before they're adopted.  Unfortunately, April tested heartworm positive and will soon begin her treatment which will involve a series of medications over several months.  She will be spayed when treatment is complete.  While she is doing well in her foster home, it would be wonderful if April could go to her forever home while she undergoes her treatment under the care of local vets and then finalize the adoption after heartworm treatment is complete and she is spayed.  If you can open your heart and home to this sweet girl, Please contact "Linda" at Haven to Home.
