Zelda was rescued in KY when she was abandoned and starving. She weighed in at 35 lbs. -- almost half of what her normal weight should be.  Our KY partners nursed her for three weeks until she had gained enough strength to make the trip to PA.  

Zelda arrived in PA December 3, 2022, and went immediately to her foster home where she continued to recover from being starved and malnourished.  She was scheduled for spaying on January 4, 2022, with availability for adoption planned soon after.

Surprise!  On December 17, 2022, at 3 a.m. Zelda presented us with 5 sweet, healthy little pups.  None of her vets or groomers in KY or PA even suspected she was an expectant MOM.  Needless to say, her spay was put on hold.  The puppies were adopted in early February.   Zelda was a great MOM to them,  she has since been spayed and is looking for a forever home.

Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs. 

We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions.
 
We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
