Skittles is as sweet as her name suggests! This ten pound little lady has not had a good first half of her life. You may find this very hard to imagine, but tiny girl was rescued from living in a barn! Please take a moment to remember the recent temperatures in the great state of PA and that she is only a ten pounder! To make matters worse she was matted, missing many of her teeth, had nails growing into her pads and her feet were encased in a concrete like concoction of hair and cow manure. As a result, her shaved feet are stained black until new hair replaces the old.
Flash forward to her rescue. Due to the intense odor and the bad shape she was in, we were able to rush her to our groomer and the groomer worked miracles! Skittles needed to be shaved down to the skin but oh my goodness did she feel like a new dog! She is now enjoying a warm home, fresh food and water, and LOTS of lap time. She is just the best bed buddy and loves to be right next to her person, rarely moving all night. She has been clean in the house, enjoys car rides, and will walk on a leash. After a slow introduction, she is great with kids, adults and my pack of six dogs: big, small, young, old, male, and female. Though I do not have a cat, she passed her cat test at a cat rescuer’s home.
Going forward, Skittles needs to live her best life as a much beloved family member--The life she deserved all along. If you think you might be a good home for Skittles, please apply today at Haven to Home Dog Rescue. By the end of January she will be spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm tested, and microchipped. This sweet baby is lovingly being fostered in Northumberland, PA. 17857. If you have any question please email her foster mom at margaretwilliamsharvey@gmail.com or better yet apply today if you would like to be considered for this very special girl.
