Rescue ~ Rehab ~ Rehome

Jethro is such a handsome young pointer mix who is affectionate and willing to please.   Jethro's head is black, he has a black saddle with white and black spots on rest of his body, and he weighed in at 53 pounds. His age is estimated under one year old. The person who rescued him said he was playful with the chickens on his farm, and got along very well with 4 dogs who live there.

This poor boy has been seen running alone for weeks and apparently survived because of good people feeding him and allowing him to sleep on their porches.  When he was transported to his vet appointment, he was very good in the car quickly settling down in the back of the vehicle and looking around. 

Jethro is neutered and up to date with vaccines.  He is ready to go to his forever home.  Won't you make Jethro a happy guy and love him forever.

4/1 Jet is in a foster home with 2 female labs.  His foster mom says: This dog is fantastic. What a sweet boy. I call him Jet, Jetson, or Jetty.  This dog has had some training.  He knows sit, shake, and down.  He is housebroken.  No issues at all.  Not even to mark my furniture.  No food aggression.  Treat given with another dog at the same time.  

When introduced to 2 other male dogs, they made their dominance known.  Jet went quickly into a submissive rollover position.  He was not aggressive at all.  

He'll go into the crate, but doesn't like it a lot and he needs some work on leash walking.   

I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a young dog.  He is somewhat active and would probably make a great running partner.  I am going to try that tomorrow morning.
