About Bobbi Sue

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 15-0098
  • General Color: Black with White
  • Current Age: 10 Years 6 Months (best estimate)

Bobbi Sue is a beautiful young lady with a silky and shiny black coat and a white blaze on her chest.  She is probably under a year old. She was picked up by a kind passer-by from along a road in the middle of nothing but forest where she appeared to be living on a pile of broken furniture and trash.

She has been with us since mid-July and has made so much progress in her journey from the trash pile to living in a home with other dogs and a cat!

Bobbi Sue has proven to be very smart and is treat motivated.  She wants to please and looks for guidance as to how to do that.  She has learned sit, down, sit pretty, touch, and is now working on the “leave it” command.  She does Ok with the leave it command for other animals or distractions, but hasn’t conquered it with food diversions yet.  That probably has something to do with her tendency to eat like she’ll never be fed again (she probably missed quite a few meals living along the road).  She does well in the crate while her foster mom is at work (no accidents) and sleeps all night on snuggled on her foster mom’s feet.

Bobbi Sue has learned to enjoy the company of her canine siblings, but is fearful meeting new dogs (as she was with her foster siblings at first), so her forever home will have to be skilled at intros.  She does great with the cats in her foster home and lets them rub on her and she has not shown any aggression with them.   She is not fond of water, but tolerates a bath.

She is learning to enjoy car rides.  After being an apparent drop off along the road, she is sometimes apprehensive in the car and wants to sit close and seeks reassurance.  She has a really sweet disposition!

She is a licker and gives lots of kisses and she is also athletic and quite a jumper.   She has been great with the children of various ages that she has met.

She's looking for a forever home that is active and will continue to work to build her confidence as well as giving her plenty of exercise and love.
