Dutch

Mookie (FKA Dutch) is such a love. He has really blossomed in the year and a half he's been part of our family. He loves snuggles, going for walks, and just hanging out with Dan, Baxter (our cat), and me.

We are hoping to get an electric dog fence installed this summer so he can hang out in the yard with us off-leash. I think he'd really like that!

Dutch

Dutch, now Mookie, went happily to his new home. His new family bought him a stuffed hedgehog, which he carries everywhere, even out to potty. His foster mom, who dropped him off at his new home, says "I had a huge smile on my face when I left him there, but more importantly I had a smile in heart."

(One week later): I can't believe it's been a little over a week since we adopted Mookie (FKA Dutch)! Mookie and our kitties are still getting to know each other, but I think in time they'€™ll be good friends. We took Mookie on his first trip to the Lewisburg Dog Park over the weekend to run around with our friend's dog and he had a great time. He'€™s also been getting to know all the dogs that live in our neighborhood on our daily walks. He is such a sweet, friendly dog and seems like he's feeling right at home here.

Drake

Brady, formerly Drake, is doing awesome with us. He met my daughter's rescue dog Hunny for the first time this weekend. They are about the same size and age and they both had a blast. We love him so much. We had him micro chipped and he has learned how to sit, lay down, shake, roll over, and we are working on stay. Thanks for finding him a forever home with us.

Daisy Jo
Daisy Jo

The day is nearly over, but I wanted to let you know that Daisy had a very smooth car trip back to Virginia…she was resting almost all the way. Once here, she’s had a nice “getting to know her house and yard”, plus our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter came by to meet her. She was very friendly, wagging her tail and enjoying all the attention!

We also went for our first long walk around the neighborhood…lots of new sights, sounds and smells, but she did great, and is starting to look like she may be getting tired.

Thanks for taking such good care of her for her first year, and we are thrilled to be taking care of her now. She has already laid down on our bed and seems comfortable, and has shown us her belly a few times to say “I trust you”. We love her already, and wanted you to know she will be well cared for and loved!

Best regards,

John and Patty

Delilah
Delilah

Hi from Barbara and Delilah
Delilah continues to be the best!  She is funny, smart; she puts the window down with her paw then looks at me.  She loves ball and stick play and bites of lateral branches in order to have one stick to carry.  Deilah had surgery in July for an oral mass and 2 masses on her back- the mass was removed along with a tooth- the vet was concerned it might be cancerous, but fortunately it wasn't.  She is a fabulous dog- thank you again.
