Norton

Zeus, aka Norton. He is such a blessing and is doing great.

Nell

We adopted Nellie on August 5th, 2012. She is a one year old, female, Border Collie/Boxer mix. So far so good. A quick learner and eager to please. And lightning fast!

Nash

Hello good people of Haven to Home!

Just wanted to give an update of Ben. He has made a huge difference in our home; all for the better! Ben is our hero. About a month ago, my husband fell while mowing grass and hit his head hard enough to lose his vision. Ben was sitting on the porch watching and when Craig did not get up, Ben OPENED the gate, ran to Craig and literally dragged him back through the gate to the porch. Ben then ran in through the doggie door to get me. He insisted I go with him by barking and mouthing my arm. I followed him and found Craig unconcious on the porch. To make a long story short, all ended well. Ben saved his Dad.

Ben just came home from a week of camping. We knew before going that he loved water because he has a kiddie pool at home that he played in daily. We never had a dog that swam before and we were amazed when he jumped right into the swimming hole and started swimming. He LOVES swimming. Especially when someone swims with him. He actually was able to get my older dog Sally to go swimming with him, which in all her 9 years has never gone deeper than her ankles in the swimming hole. Upon coming home, the kiddie pool no longer excites him, so his Dad has jokingly stated "time to put that inground pool in!"

At the end of April, our family lost our eldest dog, Sly. He was 13 years old and had a wonderful life. It was my children's first true experience with a loss of someone they were so close to. My Sally slipped into a depression and we were worried that we may lose her as well. Ben helped all of us to be able to adjust to a life without Sly. At first Sally, resisted his attempts at affection but he won her over again. He now has her playing again!

Ben is a very intelligent boy. He learns new things very quickly. He even helps gather wood while camping and picking peas from the garden. He LOVES fresh veggies.

Ben was neutered on June 4 of this year. He weighed in at 62lbs at his post op checkup. He has been micro chipped and has a life time license. We had his dew claws removed due to him causing injury to everyone he came in contact with by those razors. (we all have Benny marks)

We would like if Haven to Home would keep the $50 neuter deposit as a donation from Benny to others that are in foster homes like he was. He has made our lives so much better and we want to help so that another dog has the same chance he had.

With much appreciation,

Amy Rhoads, Benny and Family

Neeko
Neeko

Hi Robin- Havent forgotten about the update, just been busy and on vacation- Neeko and Tonka are doing great. They love playing with Sophie another young pup we have, she is half their size but can out play them any day, lol. They are doing well sleeping in the crates at night and are such love bugs. As soon as I get time I will download some pics and send them. Larra and Cesar

Niko

Niko is doing great. It seems that he adjusted to our home and family by the next day! It feels like we've had him for years. Everyone who meets him, loves him. He is so laid back. Our son and his dog Bryant came home a few days before Christmas, after a slight hesitation, and a quick sniff, they became instant friends. They have been playing non-stop ever since. They get along great and keep each other company when we are not home. Niko is scheduled to be neutered this coming Monday, January 11th. We are also having him microchipped. I hope your holidays were good. Again, thanks for all your help. Sally
