Sweet little JoeJoe is in need of a new home. His Owner must move to new housing and due to health issues is having increasing difficulty caring for dog. JoeJoe's age is estimated around 5-6 years old. Joe Joe lived with an older lady with whom he was very bonded. He is currently living in a foster home with many dogs of different sizes and breeds. He is a loveable lapdog, gentle, hug muffin. He barked a few times when the evaluator arrived but he then walked quietly up the stairs in front of the visitor to the second floor apartment. He sniffed the evaluator and then jumped up onto her lap on the couch. JoeJoe was appropriately interested, not scared, never growled during the home visit/eval and did not bark again. He is neutered and UTD on vaccines. He isn’t on any medication nor does he have any health issues/problems. Joe Joe doesn’t behave aggressively and has no bite history. He gets excited if he sees another dog but his owner said she can just pick him up and he calms down. He was calm during evaluator's visit. He is housetrained, has no experience in an outside kennel or inside crate. He is scared during thunderstorms but can be calmed down with a lap to sit on. He eats dry Kibbles and Bits and wet Chicken Mighty Dog canned food. He receives very little table food - but does love a piece of cheese :) Joe Joe doesn’t have a lot of experience with other dogs and none with whom he has lived in his recent past. Usually he gets pretty excited with other dogs; sometimes he gets along OK once they meet each other but he does not have much experience in this area. He has no experience with cats so we don’t know how he would do with them. He loves to take walks and ride in a car. He has a bed but usually sleeps on his owner's bed. He is friendly to the neighbors. If he meets someone he doesn’t know he usually sniffs him/her. He is NOT a frenzied barker at strangers.
