What Is a Sponsorship Dog?
A Sponsorship Dog is a beloved dog who, due to age, medical condition, or special needs, will remain in a dedicated and compassionate foster home for the rest of their life. These dogs are not available for adoption but continue to receive love, stability, and expert care through our sponsorship program.
Haven to Home Canine Rescue, Inc. (H2H) covers all veterinary expenses and provides for the dog’s ongoing needs, including food, grooming, and other essentials.
We welcome and deeply appreciate donations to support the lifelong care of these special dogs. Contributions can be made as a one-time gift or as a recurring donation—every dollar makes a difference in ensuring these dogs live out their lives in comfort and dignity.
If you would like to help defray Rita's expenses, donations can be made via: pay pal on our website haventohome.org
Some of you local folks may remember Rita Joy – the little dog that was taken to the Watsontown ER after being injured by a “hit and run” driver near the Selinsgrove State School in early December 2023, Thankfully, little Rita’s injuries weren’t serious, and she was taken into Haven to Home Canine Rescue’s system. After being spayed and having a complete dental. Between 10 and 12 years old, Rita is low energy. She spends a lot of time in her dog bed, cuddling on a warm lap, or being a “chair hog”. Her caretaker said, “if I leave my comfy chair for one moment, Rita quickly plants her little fanny in the empty spot, places it in “park” when I attempt to “dethrone” her.” Rita loves to go for car rides and looks calmly out the window. She likes to go for short walks but does pull a bit on the leash. Although she NEVER barks, she has given a low growl when the cats have tried to steal her dinner. How dare they? Rita has very few teeth left after a dental—but she has a great appetite and easily eats moistened kibble. Rita is now in her forever home with a loving foster mom. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs. We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. Thank you!
