Meet Oliver!
His foster mom says it best: Oliver has been with us for about a month now. Previously, he was being fostered in a home that did not have other dogs. His foster had to give him up because they were getting a service dog. Finding a foster with no dogs is not an easy task so.... why not put him in home with 5 dogs ♀️ Oliver was very reactive to other dogs on a leash and had previously been in a home where he was getting in fights with the other dog in the house. I knew putting him in a kennel was not an option so, I decided to give it a go. He is great with 3 of the 5, but was is not too sure of the biggest male. The energy of the youngest female seemed to scare him at times (to be fair, she is a lot for any dog to handle), but they recently started playing together! He gives very subtle signs when he is uncomfortable so it’s fairly manageable to keep him out of situations that could set him back. I believe he is not at all aggressive but fearful of large dogs and dogs that are not balanced. I have not seen or heard any growling at all with any of the dogs. These are great things!
His biggest issue is meeting new people. He doesn’t trust very easily but once he does, he will let you do anything to him! He’s a big mushy boy at home. We will work on people skills to try to improve that over time. I would love for him to have a home where he could be the center of attention in a quiet home with another quiet dog. Did I mention he is great with the cats too?
