Toy is a 22 pound, 1-year old male Havanese. He is covered in a gold and white cottony-soft curly coat with a tail that smartly curves up over his back and ears that are tipped in black. With his black nose and dark eyes, they don’t come much cuter! This type of haircoat requires frequent grooming and trips to a groomer on aregular basis. Please keep this added expense in mind when considering this boy.
Toy has bonded quickly and closely to his foster mom and is very much the definition of a velcro dog! Given a choice he would not be more than a foot away from me. However, when I do go, out he then transfers his loyalty and attaches himself to my husband.
Toy is learning the joys of being a beloved pet. He goes for long walks, enjoys car rides, and lap time. He quickly integrated into my pack of six dogs that includes: male, female, young, old, big, small and handicapped. He is not a fan of his crate but after initially complaining he will settle down and get quiet.
This sturdy and very busy little man was wonderful with my grandsons. He would do well with an active family and another young dog as a playmate. He would not do well with long hours being left alone. Toy is smart and quickly learned to use my doggie door. He enjoys the outdoors but wants me to be with him. I have been impressed with his house manners.
I do not have cats but my friend does cat rescue and lets me “cat test” my fosters. Toy passed with flying colors.
Toy is neutered, UTD on shots, and microchipped. He is on monthly heart worm/flea/tick/preventatives. If you have any question about this special little boy, please contact his foster mom at margaretwilliamsharvey@gmail.com. Better yet apply today at haventohome.org
Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.
We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions.
We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
Thank you!
