Tinsley is disabled but she doesn't know it! Little Tinsley was born on September 23, 2023 at a puppy mill. Currently, she weighs a whopping 4 lbs! Tinsley was born without hip joints and minus one hind knee joint. This adorable puppy is happy and healthy and doesn't know she has a disability. Tinsley is one of the lucky ones - she has come into a rescue that will make sure the rest of her life is spent in a home where she is loved and comfortable. Her disability doesn't slow her down--just ask her canine housemate who is chased and frequently grabbed by the tail :) Or, ask her foster mom who has had to disintangle shoes and pant legs from her sharp little teeth. YEP - she's your typical mischievious puppy. Tinsley PLAYS hard and SLEEPS hard. Tinsley has been evaluated by our veterinarians and xrays were used for diagnosis. Our vets encourage Tinsley to exercise as much as she wants (within reason for any puppy). Building muscle will help her to gain more stabiity. Of course, she will be more comfortable walking on NON-slippery surfaces. The only slight issue we see is keeping her clean after pottying as her legs at this point don't always support her well enough when she empties her bladder. Her foster has found her care to be easy with a quick rinse and towel dry once or twice a day; using unscented baby wipes in between more thorough care. Tinsley is working on housetraining and is doing as well as any puppy her age. She doesn't want to be adopted by someone who will "feel sorry for her". She wants a home where she will be loved and allowed to be a normal puppy/dog. Tinsley is due for her third vaccine (dhlpp) and rabies by January 4, 2024. If she is adopted prior to 1/4/24 - adopter must commit to completing her vaccines and spay at the appropriate time. She will need a fourth puppy vaccine by approximately 1/25/24. Tinsley, like all of our dogs, has been placed on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She is microchipped. PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR A PUPPY. PUPPIES POOP AND PEE A LOT: Be prepared. Typically, a puppy can control their bladder one hour for every month of age. So if your puppy is 2 months old, they can hold it for about two hours. Small breeds like Tinsley possibly less. Don't go longer than this between bathroom breaks or they're likely to have an accident. TINSLEY WILL NEED TO BE GROOMED EVERY 6-12 WEEKS. Can you afford this extra cost? Also, she will need to be brushed between groomings or her soft coat will mat. PUPS absolutely need training, exercise, and a lifetime commitment. It is the responsibility of puppy adopters to continue and complete vaccines and maintenance protocols. Your vet may recommend other vaccines in the future; such as lyme, influenza etc. You MUST sign a contract agreeing to have your puppy spayed at an age recommended by your veterinarian. You must provide Haven to Home with proof of SPAY/NEUTER at an agreed upon date in the future. An H2H VOLUNTEER will follow up with this agreement. Pets are lifetime commitments that can become expensive. Please think about this. Please apply if you want joy in your life as a reward for hard work.
