About Tess

Tess's foster family give her a glowing report. She is eager to please and quick to learn.  When she is indoors, her "sit" , "lie down", "wait" and "go get in your bed" are flawless! When she is outdoors, the results are variable, as she still finds everything outside incredibly stimulating. They have been working every day on "come" and "stay" outdoors, and she is also getting lots of practice walking on a leash without pulling.  She is so willing to please and learns something new every day.

She is learning to play. When Tess arrived at her foster home, she didn't know anything about balls or frisbees. They weren't alive and they weren't edible, so what was the big deal? Now she quivers with excitement someone picks up a ball; she lives to play "fetch". She is a real little athlete and can do some awesome mid-air catches.

In spite of all her energy, Tess is patient and calm. If her foster mom has to work at the computer, she will settle right down nearby and snooze while keeping one eye on her foster mom. No whining or fidgeting from Tess. She is wonderful to cuddle up with and can hang out quietly for hours if that's what her humans want to do.

Tess runs into her crate without hesitation when she is told to do so. She has had no accidents in the house or car. Sometimes she does whine in the car if her foster parents are going somewhere she loves (like the dog park).
Every interaction with other dogs has gone beautifully. There has been no sign of aggression. She really loves nothing more than to play with another dog.  She really likes to "be the mom" in every situation. We suspect Tess likely had more than a few litters of puppies, not only because of her nurturing personality, but also because of her matronly underbelly 'figure'.

Tess has not shown any aggression toward people. Since coming into foster care, she hasn't had a chance to romp with kids.

Tess is simply adorable. She is sweet and loving and very rewarding to have around. She is going to be an absolutely splendid family dog.
