Don’t forget about Momma Cooper !!

This 3 year old young mother is believed to be a mixture of American Staffordshire Terrier, Labrador Retriever, Boxer.  This girl is a medium-large size dog, around 70 pounds.  She will shed minimally, and is already housetrained, crate-trained, and knows some basic obedience.

Cooper has been a very loving and devoted mother to her puppies, but came into rescue in a less-than-ideal situation – while in the middle of giving birth!  She’s been somewhat mistrusting of strangers around her puppies, but in the several weeks she’s been here, she’s adjusted quite well.  Away from her puppies, she gives new people a very welcome greeting and full-body wag and brings them a toy to say hello.

Cooper is an extreme cuddler.  She loves humans, and can’t get close enough to you.  She is more on the timid side, and although she loves to play with in the back yard, and follows her fosters everywhere, she doesn’t want to play with the other dogs.  She is a very loyal girl to her human companions, and wants nothing more than to keep you company.

While Cooper’s pups are all getting a lot of attention, Cooper would LOVE a family all her own.  She’ll need additional training and a patient new family.  Cooper listens pretty well, comes when called, is housetrained, and she doesn’t do things like jump on the counter, or bark excessively.  She needs to be taught leash skills, and she is very wary of new dogs – so she’d prefer to be an only pet.  Probably not good with cats.

Cooper was just spayed on November 19, 2020, her babies have all been adopted and she is ready to go to her NEW forever home.
